When I wrote this fifth book, there was a huge sense of relief – surely this time the story would be told and the series could be shut down.
Lol. How could I be so wrong!
I was actually looking forward to that – I thought. I mean I do have lots of other series happening and a couple of shorter lighter ones coming up. I write fast – but not fast enough for my readers! And the more popular the series gets, the more fan emails I get with requests for the next book. And this series, although it wasn’t a favorite to begin with, it has taken off and has a large big fan base now. The entrepreneur in me says if it’s popular well of course I’m going to keep going, but the writer in me was thinking the opposite. Time to end it once and for all. There is nothing worse than a series that has kept going well past the time when it should have ended.
Then I went to bed and woke up with the opening line of the next book and I realized this story – Tessa’s story – wasn’t done. In fact, there was so much more to come! But for the moment, I have survived this epic ride – where character arcs ruled, plots twisted harder and tighter, and the danger become something that no one could survive – I did mention this was fiction right??? And that’s not bad for someone (me) who said she’d never write a vampire book – ever! How wrong could I get!
This was it. For Tessa. For Cody. For Jared. Her family. Her Friends.
Moltere’s Mountain is collapsing. With Tessa, her friends and family still inside. Tessa won’t go down without a fight…and she won’t leave the others behind. But as she races to save everyone, time runs out.
Grounded with an injured wing, Cody wants Tessa to leave while they still can. But most of their friends and family are missing. And he fears the worst…
Jared had led the army into the mountain. Only to find they were looking to annihilate all vamps, not just the bad ones. He can’t leave his friends vulnerable to yet another attack. But the mine is a death trap, and he could be the one that ends up dead.
The pressure is on – to save friends, family, each other – only the enemy is just as determined that no one survives.
